Maternal deaths have decreased for most women, but Black women continue to face disproportionately high risks, with no real improvement. While other groups saw progress, the numbers for Black women remained stagnant or worsened, highlighting deep disparities in healthcare. Even small statistical changes represent real lives lost, making it clear that this issue needs urgent attention. The data is a reminder that maternal health equity is still far from being achieved.
