Problem gambling often intensifies during celebrations, with many feeling pressured to win money for trips, gifts, and holiday participation. However, for problem gamblers, it rarely works out as planned. Adolescents, with easy access to online games, and seniors, who often gamble without the means to recover losses, are especially vulnerable. I’ve dedicated much of my practice to gambling disorders and wrote about the risks for seniors in The Guardian.
